10 Silly Things I Can Worry About Now That Ryan Miller Has Been Re-Signed

In no particular order….

1. That Stephen Colbert periodically gets “stuck” in his television persona.

2. That I will someday fall in love with a dog person.

3. That anti-bacterial cleaning products are creating Super Germs that will one day rise up and enslave us.

4. That Crunchy and Lalime will both call in sick on the same day and Toni Lydman will have to play goal.

5. That I left the oven on.

6. That someday, somewhere, I might have to rush. I hate rushing. (This is not to say I like to be pokey. I hate dragging too. I like to move at exactly my own pace.)

7. That the Western Conference will always be better than the Eastern Conference.

8. That someday the Coca-Cola company will get rid of delicious Diet Coke in favor of lame Coke Zero.

9. That I will throw up on stage during a concert.

10. That despite my years and years of high level musical training, I have already reached my full Guitar Hero potential.

I promise that when you do throw up on stage I will throw up with you.

  2. 2 Katebits July 25, 2008 at 11:57 am

At least I won’t be alone.

@3. They won’t rise up and enslave us, but there’s a good chance that the human race could face their demise since they won’t be able to fight with antibiotics/vaccines anymore. And who is the person who determines that the hand wash kills 99.9% of germs?

@7. The two years surrounding the lockout had Tampa and Carolina win the Cup. Those are two EC teams. I think it’s more that the two conferences have flipped playing styles in recent years as the EC used to be the defensive one, but they have more scorers now.

If #4 were to ever happen, it darn well better happen on a practice day and not on a game day. Heads would explode all over the city.

I lol’d really loud at number 4. Good thing I’m home alone or my roommate would have been looking at me funny.
And don’t worry, I worry about number 3 too. I don’t use that crap and I don’t get sick all that often, so I don’t see the point in wasting my money!
I actually prefer Diet Coke to other forms of Coke (except regular Cherry, mmm) and I’d be kind of pissed if they dropped it. Coke Zero is an abomination. I accidentally bought the Cherry Zero instead of regular Cherry, and I figured I’d try it ’cause I was already at home by the time I noticed. I literally gagged!

You know what else is insidiously awful? Diet Coke with Splenda. I recently accidentally drank one, and I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say that it very nearly killed me.

Oh, and there’s nothing silly about worrying about leaving the oven on. That’s a very serious problem, well worth worry. At least, that’s what I tell myself. *Runs to check again if the oven’s on*

    8. That someday the Coca-Cola company will get rid of delicious Diet Coke in favor of lame Coke Zero.

This really does keep me up at night.

Splenda is nasty. I accidentally bought a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch that was sweetened with Splenda once. I just wasn’t paying attention! I just about gagged when I ate the first (and only) spoonful. Not surprisingly, I don’t see that version of the cereal any more.

Not a fan of dogs, Katebits?

Whats wrong with Coke Zero. It tastes 10x better than Diet Coke. I think it tastes nearly as good as Coke Classic. Much closer than Diet Coke, if that was the attempt with it. Don’t bring down Coke Zero. Its almost as good as the Getty/Subway in Lewiston (inside comment!)

I’m sure you’ve not peaked yet at Guitar Hero.

As for Coke Zero, it sucks. It’s just a stupid marketing ploy so that insecure men can buy diet coke without feeling ashamed of it. Because, you know, it’s black, and, you know, strong. And so manly.

    Is july ever gonna end?

  11. 11 Heather B. July 26, 2008 at 9:09 am

I’m not gonna lie, I would LOVE to see Toni Lydman in goal. That would be amazing.

I do worry about leaving the iron on.

  12. 12 Shari July 26, 2008 at 11:28 am

Ya never know, Toni might surprise us all and really rock the house. Hank did it in the shootout!
Soap and water for 15 seconds! Universal precautions people! Besides, those wipes have alot of alcohol in them. Nurses go out to light up a cigerrete and can get some serious burns on their hands. The fire guy told us that scary little story during a fire inservice.
I’ve always wondered Kate, as a performer, do you get nervous before going on stage every time or does it make it easier having all the other performers around you? I’d have serious stage fright!

    1. I thought I was the only one who worried about throwing up on stage and I’m glad to know I’m not alone. For me, this type of anxiety usually occurs during the type of concert which makes me want to get up and push over a marimba or maybe a harp, so I try to focus on that instead of the possibility of puking on stage.

    2. I love Coke Zero and better yet Cherry Coke Zero because they are delicious. There are still days when I prefer Diet Coke, but it’s nice to have options. I’m sure the good peeps at Coke will continue to offer the entire array.

I have already been browsing online more than 3 hours presently, but I never identified every attention-grabbing post for instance the one you have. It really is very worth plenty of for me. In my view, if most webmasters plus blog writers made great written content as you do, the world wide web is usually a lot more valuable than any other time.
