I didn’t watch or listen to the game last night, but several people have told me that Drew Stafford was particularly sucky. These people clearly do not know what they are talking about.
There is no way Staffy could be that bad at hockey, because look at his new yearbook photo!

If this isn’t a brain eating zombie trying to pass as a warm blooded mortal, I don’t know what is. I showed this picture to Schnookie last night and her response was, “Oh my god, a widely-grinning Staffy is the last thing you see before your brains get eaten! RUN AWAY, TEAM PHOTOGRAPHER! RUN!!!!!”
I think this picture is evidence that Drew Stafford has matured a lot in the last year. He has finally realized that he has to at least TRY to hide his zombie-ism. I, for one, find his eagerness to fit in very endearing. While he’s had a rough training camp thus far, I fully anticipate that his new attitude will translate to the ice. This is obviously the photo of a brain eating zombie who is prepared to do whatever it takes to win.
Staffy is going to have a great year. Mark my words. (And my words are unusually valuable right now. Keep in mind that I have recently won both gay bingo AND the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra’s football pool. I know how to win and I know what I’m talking about. I’m sure you agree.)

Ya know, Mike Webber is really, REALLY nice looking in person but man, he takes the worst pictures! His roster pic looks like something out of Deliverance. And I still think Adam Mair looks like an evil gym teacher. Yawn, goodnight all…zzzzzzzzzzz

I think that this is a definite improvement from last years photo..he must have read your comments and tried to do his best this year. I really hope your going to comment on the team’s photos once again…last year’s was by far one of my favorite TWC posts ever.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! This “Schnookie” character is some kind of brilliant! Oh wait. That was me! Hee! Katebits, I am very impressed by your dogged commitment to loving Staffy, even in the face of probably failure on his part. Even the saddest-sack brain-eating zombie needs someone in his corner, and Staffy is luck to have you.
You know what’s extra weird about my newfound Staffy love? Last year at this time, when everyone was high on Staffy, I was kind of “meh” about him. Now that he’s proved his suckiness…I dig him. What the hell is up with that?
I just having this feeling that Staffy is going to have a good year. I had a good feeling right before I won $175 playing gay bingo too. Just saying. :P

You’re so contrary when it comes to Staffy, Katebits! But, I will say, this is giving me confidence that Staffy will want to prove you right and prove those of us who are now Staffy Nay-Sayers wrong.
Oh, and another question is: WHERE did you get a peek at the new yearbook photos anyway? I would like a peek at that.
Kathee, you can see all the new roster photos in the Sabres Media Guide, which can be downloaded on their website. I had to crop this picture out. It was a big pain in the butt, which is why I didn’t do a full yearbook post this year. I don’t know WHY they haven’t changed the pics on the roster list. Dumb Sabres.
