Hey, I’m not saying Drury isn’t a whore, or that Grier wasn’t right. Alls I’m saying is that Grier was the only one who was both courted by the Sabres, and publicly pissy about his reasons for leaving. His legend (in the absence of any personal experience of having him on my team) was a tad villainous. I’m happy to have discovered his charming on-ice demeanor.

But Chris Drury really stuck to the “I want to play for my childhood team” story. I mean, I’m sure he was happy to get out of here, but he never specifically said it. And Briere was pretty much like, “I TOTALLY wanted to stay, but they didn’t want me.” Grier was the only one who actually said, “I’m leaving because I don’t like this organization. The Sharks are better.” (I’m paraphrasing. Heh.)

Agree about everything, especially about TK (cannot believe how scrappy the kid is, but it is awesome) and the Hurricanes. Now if only Ottawa would start to tank… please?

I was terrified about last night’s game – not so much about the Sabres losing, but that Toronto would say “Hey, we’re not going to win anyway, so we might as well beat the crap out of them. Twelve Canadian dollars to whoever breaks Ryan Miller’s wrist.”

Obviously that didn’t happen, but now I have the same worries about tonight, especially with the Goose and the Kaleta out. Adam Mair, please access your menacing side.
