Happy Valentine’s Day From Time Warner Cable

For a few weeks I’ve been meaning to call my cable company and find out how much it would cost to switch to a plan that included the NHL Network. The high cost of cable and internet service is very annoying to me, and I knew that if the cost was anything over 5 bucks, I wouldn’t have the stomach for the upgrade. I reasoned that the NHL channel is probably only available as part of some “channel bundle” that I largely don’t want or need, so I didn’t rush to investigate.

This afternoon I found myself with a few minutes to spare, and hockey on the brain, so I gave Mr. Time Warner a ring. Guess what? Apparently, I was on some antiquated cable/internet package, and what I thought was digital cable was just regular old, um, non-digital cable. When I switched to digi-cable, I got a discount on my internet service. The end result? I added faster internet, a hundred more channels (including the NHL network) and my bill is now five dollars LESS.

I suppose I should be irritated that apparently I’ve been overpaying for the last two years, but I am a glass-half-full kind of gal.

Yay!

WOOOOO!!! That’s so exciting! Maybe the non-HD feeds won’t look so bad now!

We can get Sabres games in HD but they don’t have sound. HA! Wonder why that is? Yay indeed for you!

    Cable is such a racket!

    An unavoidable racket.

I like to think it has nothing to do with having had antiquated cable. Time Warner just thinks you’re really hot.

Katebits, have you seen the blog on the sabres site? He is using your type of during the game play by play. What’s next, he will be doing scenes from the locker room? Or Storm troopers? Or maybe even… Pommerdoodling? ::gasp::
