Brett Favre is totally insane.

Seriously, the phrase “WTF” was tailor made specifically for situations such as this. You would have thought this guy liberated Iraq, or ended World Famine, with all the attention he is getting over one trade.

He’s like football’s Brian Campbell! (minus the sweat)

    Maybe he’s already been TREATED.

I’ve done a great job of ignoring this whole Favre situation (I, in fact, had no idea he’d become a Jet until someone mentioned it yesterday afternoon on IPB), but not because I think it’s too much media hype. I mean, it is too much media hype, but the reason I’m ignoring it is because I feel like shit like this totally undermines the sports fan’s right to make sports something bigger than it is. If I were a Packers fan, Brett Favre would be a god to me. That’s the way it should be in a town like that with a franchise like that with a player like that, right? But now Favre has gone and pulled the rug out from under all of that. Instead of a god and an adoring realm of subjects, now Favre’s just another guy who gets paid to toss a football around for a bunch of Jets fans wearing Testaverde jerseys. (Or, as I suspect it will go with the Jets, anotehr guy who gets paid to toss interceptions around before suffering a season-ending injury in the second game.)

Um, yeah, pretty much insane. Instead of retiring a “god” (to quote Pookie), he has lost the admiration of many fans because of this.
