Friendly Reminder

Dear Sabres,

Are you taking proper care of your fingers and thumbs? Hand digit health is of the utmost importance.  I know it seems like fingers and thumbs are no big deal, but it turns out, you need them to play hockey.  So, take your finger steroids vitamins please.

Thank you.

I can’t believe the Sabres aren’t on a proscribed finger steroid regimen. That’s an essential part of any player’s durability training!

I had no idea, but obviously you are right Schnookie. The Sabres have delicate girly fingers and the entire team is suffering because of it.

I’m SO upset about Yo-Yo’s injury! I’m going to see the Sabres play in MN next week and he won’t be there!!! I’m a mess of sadness right now.

It’s not only about finger vitamins. Do they properly stretch their fingers?
Katebits, you should ask the pianist of your orchestra for some advice about that. I’m sure he/she knows some crazy finger exercises. The Sabres could definitely use some tips about fingers training.
How can a serious nhl organization like the Sabres not have a finger consultant is beyond me.

And are we sure that Timmy doesn’t REALLY have a finger injury, and not a back injury like we’ve all learned? Because I, for one, wouldn’t be surprised if he was trying to throw us all off his trail… =]

Cari, you are absolutely RIGHT. A finger injury is EXACTLY the type of injury that Tim Connolly would have! This must be his fault somehow. :D

Grrrreg, how funny would it be to see the Sabres gently stretching their fingers and thumbs before the games? I’ve seen plenty of musicians do it! If it’s good enough for the piano players, it’s good enough for the Sabres!

OMG Gambler, I am SO sorry that Yo-Yo is injured when you are supposed to see him in St. Paul. That. Blows.

Gambler- I’m sorry you won’t get to see yo-yo play but he could still be in MN. I went to see the boys play Monday in LI and literally ran into Goose & Paetsch while on our way to our seats. So I suggest wandering the arena before puck drop looking for a couple of tall strapping gents in suits!

If Hecht would just cut the finger off, he’d be back on the ice sooner. Based on his treatment decisions, you have to question his dedication to the game…

The image of finger steroids just brings the lolz.

Ooooh, maybe you’ll see Yo-Yo and Goose wearing suits and matching finger bandages, Gambler! That’s BETTER then seeing them play stupid old HOCKEY! :P

Karen, that story is so creepy!

Isn’t it awful? My first thought was, “Gaaaahh…that’s an injury treatment decision even a hockey player wouldn’t make!”

I wonder if there are any players with missing fingers? Hmmm…I should google it.

When Ryan Kesler spent all season rehabbing from a hip injury, and then in his first shift back in the playoffs he broke a finger blocking a shot, he asked the trainers to cut it off. Thank goodness they didn’t listen. Heh.

I’m wishing the Sabres every good finger health thought I have.
