You know what I think?

I think it’s time for milk chocolate to make a comeback.

I’m sick of milk chocolate being treated like dark chocolate’s trashy little brother.  Milk chocolate is delicious, and it deserves respect!  Dark chocolate has gone TOO far.  It’s often waxy and unpleasantly bitter.  YEAH, THAT’S RIGHT.  I SAID IT!

But I think that orange chocolate is even better than milk chocolate.

    Word. Dark chocolate is dee-sgusting.

  3. 3 Sharpie August 24, 2009 at 9:06 am

I never have liked dark chocolate. I think that orange chocolate is underrated.

But milk chocolate is also often waxy, but also often insipid, adulterated, watered-down, and shares a lot of textural characteristics with sawdust. Maybe what we need is for crappy chocolate to be outlawed. So that way both milk and dark chocolate are delicious. It’s not dark chocolate’s fault that criminal elements have flooded the market with grotesque parodies of chocolate and labeled it as “milk chocolate”. Dark chocolate is a victim here, too.

    Hmfph!

There is some delicious milk chocolate, that’s true, but it’s kind of hard to find. Delicious dark chocolate is easy to find.

I AGREE ON THE ORANGE CHOCOLATE. MORE PLEASE.

I agree that there is also crappy milk chocolate. I’m in favor of the crappy chocolate ban. As long as milk chocolate still has a seat at the table, I’m cool. Also, chocolate that is 94.97878% cocoa is NOT CANDY, so, chocolate bar industry, please stop marketing and displaying is as such.

Ik! Dark chocolate goes right through me, just can’t handle it. Hershys best for smores, milk chocolate dove bars are heaven, chocolate covered strawberrys?? IT!
On another note, my son played in the Sabres Hockeyfest yesterday, it was a blast! I almost bought Kotaliks picture that hung in the arena but wasn’t sure where I would put it so I’m kinda bummin today. He mighta been slow and not so tough but he sho is one handsome man! Ok I’m ready for hockey season!

Milk chocolate gives me the hiccups. Ergo, it’s evil and has it out for me.

Milk chocolate is annoying and cloyingly sweet. I love the bitter, give me 99.9999% cocoa!!

I don’t care if dark chocolate is healthier for you. Please, give me the milk chocolate goodness that I can actually stand.

  11. 11 Erin August 24, 2009 at 1:17 pm

    oh no you didn’t!

  12. 12 Katebits August 24, 2009 at 1:46 pm

    Amen!

And DOUBLE AMEN to the Orange Chocolate!

It took me a good 45 seconds and a re-read to fully realize this wasn’t some sort of rally cry for Roy-Z and Grier, but instead a heartfelt call for the return of milk chocolate. I think my original reading is funnier, but I digress.

I love peanuts. I love dark chocolate. I love M&M’s. Buying the dark chocolate, peanut M&M’s though? Total mistake. They weren’t bad, but there was certainly some magic missing. On the other hand, I adore Hershey’s Special Dark Miniatures. Those things are heaven in a candy wrapper.

And F the orange chocolate. White chocolate kicks its butt any time, any day, with any weapon!

Matt, :^::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Also, EW! Don’t even get me STARTED on the dreaded WHITE CHOCOLATE! :P

Please don’t misunderstand dear readers, I do love me some dark chocolate, I just think we’re taking it a little too far now, and I’ve grown tired of the blatant predudice against milk chocolate.

    White chocolate isn’t even chocolate!

Anyway, I’m a fan of orange chocolate, dark chocolate and milk chocolate. I’m an equal opportunity chocolate fan. However, when it comes to sponge candy, it has to be milk chocolate.

  17. 18 Matt August 26, 2009 at 3:52 pm

    White chocolate isn’t even chocolate!

Damn! Wondered when somebody was going to pick up on that… =(

White chocolate is just frosting that wishes it were chocolate. :D

I used to be a Hershey’s girl, but I’ve jumped ship and now I’m all Ghiradelli, all the time.

I prefer dark chocolate, but their milk chocolate with caramel is way up there on my favorite things.

  19. 20 lulu15213 August 29, 2009 at 8:40 pm

I agree, dark chocolate is g to the ross! I have been to a Hershey’s chocolate tasting before and 80 percent of the chocolate we sampled was dark or contained the phrase XX% cacao. They wouldn’t give us milk choc because dark chocolate/XX% cacao was their new money-making thing. Vom.

I too enjoy milk chocolate. I have heard some people say that Hershey’s is awful and in Europe there is much, much better milk chocolate.

White chocolate is just vegetable oil in chocolates clothing.

Please stop the bastardization of milk chocolate! Can we make that a bumper sticker?
