All My Respect, Sabres.

Honestly, I have no complaints. (Well okay, I’d launch Mike Richards into the sun to die a miserable death if I could, but that’s not so much a complaint as is a heartfelt dream. I’m also pretty bummed that the game was so lopsided.  It was such a great series, and to have it end like that was a major letdown. I wish the team hadn’t looked so scared tonight. I also think it’s weird that Lindy pulled Crunchy when he did. And frankly, if I never hear the name Daniel Briere again, it will be to soon. Fuck that guy. And I have no idea what to think of Chris Butler or Drew Stafford. And I’m flat out annoyed with Brad Boyes. Okay, fine… I have a few complaints. But let’s call them quibbles, not complaints.  There will be plenty of time to address our minor quibbles this summer.)

The Sabres gave us a great season. In the end, they were severely outmatched. The injuries piled up too high. Regardless of the eventual outcome, it was a wonderful run, and a wonderful year. I feel great about the future of this team, and I enter the offseason with hope in my heart.I am incredibly proud of this team. I’m proud to be a Sabres fan.

Last year at this time it felt like nothing could ever change, and then it all changed. I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Thank you, Sabres!

Amazing parenthetical rant. Agree w/ all of it. Thank you, Sabres… and thank YOU Kate for making so much of this season more awesome. :)

I absolutely agree. Tomorrow. Tonight? I grieve. And use the F-word. A LOT.

But next season? LET’S GO BUFFALO!

I think I’d be more rage-y if the game had ended with a miserable OT goal. The fact that the Sabres were never really in this one gave me lots of time to absorb the loss.

Nice, and I pretty much agree,

Now that I’ve somewhat shaken off the humiliation of last night’s game and Lindy’s horrid comment during the second period that he didn’t think we’ll win it…lets look at two positives:

Nathan Gerbe and Tyler Ennis. All nicely seasoned with some playoff experience against a TOUGH team for next year.

    Okay…three positives:

T-peg. He didn’t get where he is today because he’s a fool and he didn’t buy this team so he could buy into theories that are not winning theories. Changes will be made this summer…positive changes.

I truly believe Danny Briere should have scored a goal for us last night on Boucher…because we, the fans, didn’t want him to go and the people that mis-managed his UFAdom are gone out to pasture…its the least he could have done for us…I mean, really. (rolls eyes)

I too was disappointed in the lopsided game last night, but the fact that they dragged themselves into the playoffs and made the Flyers face them in game seven was pretty remarkable.

    There is always next year.

Please don’t stop writing just because the season is over. You are entertaining no matter what subject you tackle.

It’s too bad that they ended like they did, but there’s a lot to like about how some young players (Ennis, Gerbe, Myers) played as well as some veterans (Vanek has to wear the C next year, right) embraced leadership. It’ll be an interesting offseaon to see if Ted Black and Pegula power can really bring some influence on the free agent market.
